eh, you don't need reports. you don't need evidence. just throw out steroids, HGH or whatever. you can taint everyone that way! especially if you don't like him!!!
Unfortunately, it will likely always be this way until MLB figures out a way to get blood testing allowed so they can test for everything a player might be using. But since they got Congress off their ass, I doubt they even bring that up anymore.
The funny thing is, Congress may get involved soon again. From what ESPN said a few days ago, there is a provison in the labor agreement that if they don't have a new CBA by August 1st (and you know they won't), the union can unilaterally go back to the old steroids policy. If that happens, Congress is gonna be pissed.
Yeah but are they going to make it where the tests are more thorough or the continue the way they are now?
I doubt they would force the blood testing and such. Although - does the Olympics do blood testing? They could conceivably just force Olympic standards onto pro sports - they were considering that at one point.
I believe so. I think Olympic testing is as strict as a testing as they could come up with. You don't ever hear about any speculation that Olympic athletes might be doping, just the results if they are caught. I know there is some stuff that still can't be tested for, like blood doping that Lance Armstrong is accused of, but most of what a baseball athlete might take can be detected, I think.
why would a guy playing first base blood dope. doping is specifically for endurance. some of you guys are going overboard.
I got that from the thread. there is no point in imposing olympic standard testing in baseball. that includes blood doping testing. it would be a waste of time.
They're talking about how you would need a blood test to detect HGH... MLB doesn't draw blood at all. I'm pretty sure they were trying to say that if the Olympics can draw blood, why can't MLB?
