This wasn't political until Trump made it so, then RL and Space Toast come in here and try to pile on with Trump talking points about PR being an island (showing who they truly listen to) - then they cry about how it's becoming political after their own party is the one that introduced politics into the whole thing.

How about saying that it's time to get the military really involved and help these people like people helped Houston. Seriously in NY people are giving big time. I don't see any of these clowns talking about helping our fellow citizens. I gave to Houston, and I gave to PR. How many of these sit on their ass right-wingers would ever lift a finger - no...they will just bash bash bash and try to get their juvenile political points.

People are suffering, RL and Space Ghost. Have some empathy. have some dignity for those people. Do something decent for once.

You're the one acting like Trump is Euron Grayjoy and can just magically redeploy a fleet of American ships across the globe over night. Then somehow Trump can turn jeeps and tanks into bucket trucks, bullets and bombs into utility poles and wire and and soldiers into utility workers.

Yes, PR is an island. That is the damn point. They are struggling to get food and water properly distributed across an island with millions of people, much less trying to rebuild the island infrastructure.

Even a Republican (well, some of them at least, those who are not blind Trump worshipers) who thinks that the non-Fox media is biased against Trump can see the idiocy of him picking a fight with the mayor of San Juan this morning. A President is going to get a lot of criticism that he/she doesn't considers unfair, the ability to deal with such perceived unfair attack in a non-idiotic and non-impulsive way is a pretty big part of the job.




With the San Juan mayor statement, it's just insane what a snowflake Trump is. The mayor did not even mention Trump at all, nor was she arguing that the federal response is totally shitty. She was merely responding to the Acting HHS Secretary's statement that the federal PR effort is a "good news" story when there is so much suffering still going on. It's more of a criticism of celebrating too early.

The non-stupid way to response is to say "We at the Whtie House and HHS understand the situation is still dire for many. However, we are doing all we can, including [list of efforts] and will continue to work. Some of the criticism we consider unfair, but we appreciate frustration of those in PR, and this is hardly the time to litigate such things. We will continue to do all we can and try to coordinate our efforts with local government and groups."
