Anyone who supports this cruelty to children should have their say, and their say should be promptly dismissed. Emotions be damned.

They have the law on their side. It doesn't matter if you think they're unreasonable.

    Just close the loopholes

They don't have justice on their side, and that does matter. They don't have reason on their side and that does matter.

You can continue to spin this as "cruelty to children" and that might impress people who don't know what you are talking about, but as soon as they realize the truth they'll turn on you. There's nothing "cruel" about this, what was "cruel" is the awful parents that would cruelly choose to put their children through this. If anything their actions show that they need their children taken from them and given to foster parents in their own country. They are clearly unfit to be parents.

We get it. You don't think it's cruel to put innocent children into cages. Nobody will turn on me because I don't support that.

It isn't the fault of the parents that the children are being taken from them. It is the fault of those who just recently decided to start taking the children from the parents.

No, the law isn't all that matters. Doing the right thing and shutting down cruelty matters.

They aren't innocent. They are in violation of the law every bit as much as the parents. It's terribly unfortunate that the parents got their children to break the law and end up being locked up temporarily till they can be shipped back to their country, but to pretend like that's cruel is more than a little ridiculous.

Again, in the instance of a family full of American citizens all breaking the law and being caught, they'd be split up into different facilities pending trial....why should it be any different for illegal immigrants? Why should they get that privilege when American citizens wouldn't?

You don't have to close any loopholes to keep families together. It's pretty simple. All you have to do to keep families together is just stop separating them. This administration decided to do it, and they could decide to stop doing it.

Are you proposing keeping families together in asylum, or not having illegals obtained whatsoever?

How about treating these people who are seeking asylum humanely, instead of like animals? Why is this so hard for people to get?

If temporary separation is absolutely necessary, we should at the least ensure that every parent knows where their child is and is able to communicate with them as needed. Basic decency.

What? There is already family detention. The difference is that the families are detained separately. Of course, I would prefer them to be housed together. That's the whole issue. Was that tweet supposed to make a point?

I have no problem with stopping people from illegally entering the nation.
