Randall Flagg edges out Trump in the election by a popular vote of 10 to 2, the Fed prints so much money that everyone becomes a billionaire including Bernie Sanders, and safe handling instructions on packaged bat meat
I've always been fascinated with history. So much history out there that a typical book can't scratch the surface on. When we were teenagers Sunday's had the blue law and everything was shut down so we'd drive up and down the Missouri river looking through a grave yards. Those places told so many stories. You'd see a row where kids all died within days of each other - assuming some "simple" illness took them out. Mom died the same day as her new born. Most people didn't live that long. 40s was average. 60-70s was ancient. One man died who they didn't know his name. His headstone just said he was from PA and going to CA - died in 1849. A 49er passably heading out for gold? A better life? And how did they know where he was from and not his name? Sorry for the side track but history fascinates me as to how people lived back then.

I know a nurse from Taiwan and she's wondering why we're so freaked out about this. I'm like, Taiwan is more hardened to it because of Sars and Swine Flu. I'm optimistic that we'll adapt, and cynical that we'll revert back to the norm if this wave doesn't last beyond 2 months.
China and even Wuhan is coming back online after 3 months or so. The rest of the world (except Iran) is not as bad. I would expect a similar trajectory but getting back to full capacity is going to need a vaccine. Getting back to somewhat regular capacity will need MASSIVE amounts of easy to use rapid tests. I think you will see innovation and hopefully simple hygiene changes as well.
My counter to this is that China has a different standard of living and is an authoritarian regime, which means they control the media and the entire ‘picture’ that their people see. Example: The Chinese hating the Rockets after Morey’s tweet. It’s in China’s best interest to paint a rosy picture for both their population and the world stage so they can get back on track with manufacturing.
China is already writing a state sponsored book about their amazing, heroic conquering of the deadly corona virus along with pushing conspiracy theories that America created the virus and released it in Wuhan.
We live in an age of poverty, greed, violence, destruction. Indeed, the very seat of the federal government, Washington D.C., has been reduced to what is now known as the "Capital Wasteland." The Capital Wasteland... How did it come to this, America?
great post. It was not long ago that 40 was a pretty normal life expectancy. And for many thousands of years before that.
