Power of Lightning

We had a similar experience. Very scary. Lightning hit our telephone pole out front. We lost all our phones, 3 out of 5 ethernet cards were fried, modem, router, and switch were gone, one tv killed, and the scariest part was a fire - in the attic. The auto-pilot light for our furnace was destroyed, starting a gas fire. Luckily I heard the gas blowing in the attic and was able to cut the supply valve off before anything else caught on fire.
