    My HOA is really strict. I've had a number of letters from them (remove grass out of flower beds, and then another letter saying put flowers in the flower bed, etc.).

    The most ridiculous one was a letter to remove this garden gnome I bought and placed only 2 weeks before the letter, and located at the entry way to my front door. You can barely see it from the street.

    At first, I ignored the letter. Then they sent me another one in about another week threatening to take action. I didn't feel like fighting and just put it in my backyard.

    Apparently my HOA does not allow any ornaments in the front yard, except for high school banner related stuff.
