Simple question - the worst team in the NBA (Rockets) vs one of the best teams in college basketball (UH Cougars).

I am going with the Cougars in a close one.

The Rockets would destroy them. It wouldn't be close.

UH would actually beat this current constructed team as this team actually should be in college still also

They would get ridiculously frustrated with the physicality and defense of UH. and the fact that the rockets stink defensively, they wouldn't last vs this UH team

There hasn't been many examples of an nba team being as young or just as young as a college team. The rockets just happen to be one of them

Rockets would walk in with all the swag in the world but 2 seconds into the first play on either offense or defense it would be clear they had no idea wtf they're supposed to be doing.

Most of the time a question like this would be ridiculous to ask as it would be obvious that a pro team would beat a college team. However, considering the clown show that is the Rockets and for the reasons you mentioned up above - I think it is not as apparent that the pro team wins, especially when you can make the argument that the pro team doesn’t really act like a pro team.

C’mon man … I’m an alum and bleed Cougar red but the Rockets win by 20. We’re talking about drastically different levels of basketball.

usually this would be true but not in this case. there's nothing about this rockets team outside of the sheer name that makes it a different level. These are kids who shouldn't even be in the nba and their best prospects should/ can be still in college. Rockets winning by 20 is laughable.

Kelvin Sampson would absolutely have UH ready to compete. and expose the long list of flaws that are common sense

KPJ and Green are too big for Sasser/Shead
KJ and Tari too physical for Tramon Mark
As for bigs, Walker and Francis might hold their own defensively but Roberts and Chaney would be BBQ chicken for Alpi.

Easy win for the Rockets even with the Silas Tax

nobody on this rockets team is physical. Tari was someone who struggled playing vs UH while he was at Cincy. you talk about physicality and you're talking about the wrong team. UH has it. the rockets definitely don't

Coogs would be up 20 by half. Not even close. That college V NBA team thing is baloney in this situation.

Rockets might squeak by in a seven game series, but I doubt it.

It would have to be NCAA rules for it to even be close. Alpi would foul out the Coogs bigs, and Green and KPJ would do whatever they wanted on the perimeter. Remember even guys like Smith and Eason would have been starters on this Coog team. Walker and Sasser would need monster games offensively to keep it under 20.

If rockets played sengun and Tate 30+ min they will win

Play Jabari and green 30 plus it's a draw

No dominant traditional bigs kill UH. if you were an actual alum who kept up with UH would know that. Nothing about KPJ is getting whatever he wanted on the perimeter. he would get locked up by that defense and storm out at halftime like he did before.

No eason wouldn't be a starter. Eason couldn't even start at LSU. Jabari possibly

Your nba vs college team logic doesn't apply here. UH is facing a current college team with 0 leadership, 0 hierarchy, 0 defense, extremely volatile offense, 0 chemistry/culture. All of that would get easily exposed by Kelvin Sampson. He would have a field day with his game plan

I assure you I’m an actual alum who loves the Coogs, I’m just being realistic. In a seven game series I’ll throw a bone and say it would be a gentleman’s sweep for the Rockets.

Who have the Coogs faced with Alpi’s post play or Green’s quickness?

Edit: Sampson would have them double Alpi on the catch and KJ and Green would have a dunk fest.

like i said if you truly followed you would know post play has never killed UH. They get taken out of the game and exposed in actions cause they have trouble defending. He isn't even a perimeter threat which makes it even worse for him. Green's quickness is supposedly winning a game? nah that's not how it works. His inefficiency and being 1 dimensional on one side of the ball isn't enough for UH not to expose

quickness lol. This is like the westbrick is so fast logic when CF's tried to tell everyone he was an upgrade to cp3. Well we know how that turned out.

your projections are based all on what the rockets are hoping to be in a best case scenario. This current rockets team isn't anywhere near that. The rockets are an example of what a college team would look like in the nba, why? because that's exactly what they are. a collection of 19/20 year olds
