It is obvious Kevin Martin is in a slump, he has had better seasons (to say the least). However, he will eventually break out of it, and one day have another effecient 20+ point night. Courtney Lee is hot right now, so hot. He has not had an opportunity here to prove that he is a solid starter who can give you 15+ a night with solid defense. That being said, he is the hottest asset on our team right now and Morey and co. will probably never get as much for him as they can right now. He is also a restricted free agent and some team will definently over pay for him this offseason. So, trade Martin, and probably get very little back for him, but it gives Lee the starting SG job- Or sell high on Lee and continue to build your team?
Neither will fetch that much in a trade. Lee will likely be gone in free agency, so might as well trade him.
I'd trade Martin as long as we get something GOOD in return. I'm ok with letting Lee start full time.
one side poll, haha~ The rockets need to give Lee a contract to make him happy. Did he request a trade when Morey did not offer him a early contract extension?
kevin martin = plays no D and risks taking crazy shots courtney lee = plays D,clutch, good on both O and D
This is all I can see right now. I've never felt the excitement for Martin what that I feel for Lee right now.
At least Scola was a warrior for us... while Martin checked out long ago on the road.... you know the story...
Posted this in the other thread about trading Courtney Lee, but just for reference- Jonathan Feigen@Jonathan_Feigen Hearing that Kevin Martin, sitting out tonight with a strained right shoulder, has been very much in Rockets trade talks. later - Jonathan Feigen@Jonathan_FeigenReply No. Doubt Lee will be dealt, esp if Martin is. RT @texanfan2785: @Jonathan_Feigen do you think both Lee and Martin will dealt on Thursday? -Feigen is the closest thing to a source in the Rockets lockeroom. This is what he thinks mind you, but I believe it to as close to realistic source material as we can get from inside the Rockets lockeroom. Lets see what happens, but I have a feeling Martin is going to be dealt in a deal for Kaman that involves a third team. Just a hunch.
McHale is old school. No D means you are gone. Wave bye bye to both of them. Hope we can garner a second rounder each.
