49% Say Bush Responsible for Provoking Iraq War

    44% Say Hussein

June 23, 2005--Forty-nine percent (49%) of Americans say that President Bush is more responsible for starting the War with Iraq than Saddam Hussein. A Rasmussen Reports survey found that 44% take the opposite view and believe Hussein shoulders most of the responsibility.

In late 2002, months before the fighting began, most Americans thought that Hussein was the one provoking the War. Just one-in-four thought the President was doing the provoking at that time.

Becuase this is a war sold to us as a pre-emptive war, WMD must be the main reason going to the war right? All this building democracy in middle east is just some after thought right? ;)

That is true that most thought he had WMD's. But it is also true that most thought the WMD's weren't a threat UNLESS he was attacked.

I should be in intelligence since even I knew there'd be no wmds. Or maybe, intelligence did know and was forced to to change their reports to reflect what the administration wanted. I wish I could find it, but there were stories around the time that the CIA didn't believe there were any WMDs in Iraq.

If these walls came crumbling down
Fell so hard to make us lose our faith
From what's left you'd figure it out
And makes lemonade taste like a sunny day

    Stay beautiful baby
I hope you stay American baby
    American baby

    Nobody's laughing now
God's grace lost and the devil is proud
But I've been walking for a thousand miles
Just one last time I could see you smile
    I hold onto you
You bring me hope I'll see you soon
And if i don't see you, I'm afraid we've lost the way

    "thought"

Rather than manipulating intelligence to make it seem like a "slam dunk". Going to war because you think someone has WMD's even though the intelligence indicates otherwise is hardly "hindsight is 20/20".

The UN said the weapons were "unnacounted for" which could mean anything from destroyed to expired to hidden etc. Which might explain why they weren't quite as enthusiastic to go to war.

If there is a Devil, he is proud of Mr. Bush... whose lies, criminal incompetence, hypocrisy, retaining of those who have advised him as he's lead, and is leading, this country to ruin, and incredible extremism and partisanship, while accusing and having his closest advisors accuse any who disagree with his policies of being what his regime truly is, makes a mockery of his wrapping himself in a cloak of "God."

If Hell exists, Mr. Bush will be seeing a great deal of the Devil.
I just hope our country can survive, as we've known it, before the public wakes up and finally throws this band of extremists out, to enjoy the fruits of their corruption, instead of the decades of time behind bars they so richly deserve.
