Why is this even a question??

Of course it's Beltran. I still remember him struggling his first year in NY and Willy T coming on strong. That brought serious joy to my heart.

Easily Beltran. Astros made an all-out push for him, which never even mattered because he was never coming here.

It was pretty clear Mario was gonna go where the money was, and if the Texans had it, he would have stayed.

Beltran still get's booed when he comes to town. I doubt Mario ever will.

I was ready to order a Beltran jersey the second he signed. Ugh...I really dislike that guy, and Scott Boras...forever. They're not Jazz level, but they're definitely the next tier of loathing.

Beltran turned out to be an idiot
    After engineering Astromania

I forget the rest of the lyrics, but yes, Beltran by far.

beltran was a dog and pony show. mcclaine played this town to the tune of a half billion mark up on his franchise at sell time. but i'm not mad at my uncle, i thought he was kind of cool for an old man

What stings so much about the Beltran situation is that the Astros reportedly offered $107M while he took $119M from the Mets. Boras never told the Astros to up the offer since he was simply using Houston to bid against the Mets, and that was that. Plus, $12M in NYC really doesn't go a long way compared to Houston after you take into account taxes and cost of living. That was just flat-out painful to experience. I have no doubt in my mind that the Astros would have beaten the White Sox the next year in the World Series if Beltran had stayed. Douche.

Easily Beltran. With Mario, 99% of this board knew he was gone as soon as he was going to "let my agent handle negotiations".

Warren Moon, the Bills were on the decline and the freaking Chargers went that year; no reason it couldn't have been us.
