i just want an outfielder that's ready to step up to the majors, like tomorrow. I guess that's tooo much to ask for. anyways...Adios Wandy. Go do your thing in pittsburgh. I'm liking that pirates team all the way to the world series. it's good for baseball.
Hopefully this crop of trades weren't a case of Jeff over playing his hand and not trading when value were highest.
This trade depends on how much money Luhnow is throwing down. None of these prospects are anything to get excited over. Like the Carlos Lee deal. And the Myers deal.
The tear-down of the roster is officially complete. Like others have said, I'm going to miss Wandy. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that he has come a long, long way in an Astros uniform. I remember when he first came up as a fringe starter, I couldn't stand him. Mostly just because he wasn't very good and on a team that had three guys like Clemens, Pettite and Oswalt, it was frustrating to watch Wandy get shelled. But then he made himself into a decent starter that was still prone to big innings and then sometime over the last three or four years, he has turned himself into, I believe, a number two starter on a good team when he's right.
Moral of the story: Luhnow traded Lee/Lyon/Happ/Wandy/Myers for a lot of depth and zero impact prospects.
