there's definitely some strangeness going on here...

Maybe there was some chemistry issues with PBev AND Ariza post playoffs...

not that surprising. he takes a lot of pride in himself so I don't see him as someone would take it personal. hes had his time here and made the most of it thus far. made himself into a rotational nba player where hou had alot to do with it. hell get a double figure salary raise in his next contract

I hate getting my hopes up but this screams something's happening. I don't care who doesn't like who bev loves Houston and his contract is ridiculously valuable in this market

when you are asking for the likes of the cp3's, PG's, hayward, etc..someone's gotta go and unfortunately that can be fan favorites

my post was clearly sarcastic, but yes, if we did manage to get Paul George then we could definitely get CP3 as well

    That's what I meant.

PBev and Ariza getting into it with Harden.

Since he now qualifies for a contract extension, I'm sure Bev is probably requiring the new team to guarantee one in a trade.

Pretty smart if that's what's going on

Absolutely. If any spark of truth was in that Ariza thread existed, it speaks to bigger problems with the guy they want to lock up for a trillion dollars or a trillion years, lol.

A new team could give him an extension with a guaranteed pay raise on the back end

One has to assume the Pacers asked for a first round pick and don't want PBev.

DM is doing his diligence... so on draft night if the Pacers don't have what they want for someone else, DM can be prepared to get the pick the Pacers need to get PG13.

    Seems most logical.

As for PBev, maybe he had an issue with Harden post the playoff loss. Or maybe its just DM is being upfront with him - "hey, we're going to listen to an offer to see what kind of pick we can get from you" - and Pat's just speaking his mind given that, which is fine.

Last year, when the Rockets hired coach Mike D’Antoni, Beverley told Sporting News he considered seeking a trade, under the assumption that D’Antoni—known for his quickfire offense—would not welcome Beverley’s defense-first style. But after speaking with D’Antoni, who committed to Beverley as his point guard, he decided to give the new coach a try.

In April, D’Antoni said the team thrived off Beverley’s ability to make the big play. “He’s invaluable when he gets on the bus in the morning,” D’Antoni said. “There’s definitely no analytic number for that one.”

Beverley enjoyed playing for D’Antoni, he said multiple times last season. But other factors, the source said, have led the Rockets and Beverley to explore trade possibilities.
