Air Marshalls are trained to keep the rest of the plane safe...he did what he had to do.

it doesn't say he shot the guy.

edit: I take that back, the story is sort of confusing, it does say he shot and killed him at the beginning, but the rest of the story seems different.

A federal air marshal shot and killed a 44-year-old American Airlines passenger who claimed to have a bomb in his bag and ran off of the plane, a Department of Homeland Security official confirmed to FOX News.

thats the first line of the story....what article are you reading?

alright dude, I'm talking about the rest of the story where it just says he tackled and subdued him and then it ends. but I said that's what the beginning line said, and then the rest of the story doesn't say that.

sad but it sounds like it was necessary. You can't scream "bomb" on a plane or in an airport. Even if the other person claimed that the man was bipolar and lying, the question is who do you believe???? For all they knew the lady was the one lying. Air marshals must take care of the passengers.

they did what they had to do..

I'm not sure how being mentally ill makes him LESS LIKELY to have a bomb. plenty of mentally ill people murder etc.
