Regardless what the bestbuy deal is , I think these two deals from buy.com are awesome. Economies bad and my job security has gone to hell..... but I'm sooo tempted. http://www.buy.com/prod/samsung-ln4...dtv-30-000-1-dynamic/q/loc/111/207652056.html http://www.buy.com/prod/samsung-ln5...namic-contrast-ratio/q/loc/111/207642166.html
I have that exact TV and I could not be any happier with it. If you do decide to go plasma, definitely stick with Panasonic or Pioneer. I say go for it.
You might want to take a look at this, its bigger. http://dealnews.com/Samsung-50-1080-p-Plasma-HDTV-w-200-at-NFLShop-for-1-150-70-s-h/276008.html IMO Panny is slightly better than Samsung in the plasma dept but take a look. Bigger is better.
Also, you might look into a 720p plasma. I bought the Panny 50" 720p from Best Buy on Black Friday. The picture is absolutely stunning. Until you get to 55" you really cannot tell the difference between 720p and 1080p from a reasonable viewing distance (8+ feet). You'll get a bigger TV and save a lot of money to boot!
720p is great, don't let them 1080pers bully you! I have bluray also, it looks great on my 50inch Sony Wega.
My parents just got the 720p panasonic 42" plasma. The picture is incredible! From beyound 5 ft I don't think you can tell the difference between the 720P and 1080P versions of this TV. Amazon has it for around $750 delivered to your house!! http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Vie...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1233079919&sr=8-1
