For years it's been un-realistic, due to his legendary status in College Basketball. But, with Billy Donovan and others looking at NBA jobs, why is it unrealistic to think we shouldn't at least make a hard sell approach to Coach K? He's accomplished all he can at Duke, and is about to step down as Coach of Team USA. One goal is left- Try his hand at the NBA. Most if not all of the teams in the past who had approached him had been rebuilding jobs, with draft picks, development players, and no stars. With this lineup, don't you think he would at least entertain what we have here in terms of support, and our roster? Thoughts?
Um. My thoughts are: You're pretty uninformed on this particular topic there, buddy. Do you have any idea how many NBA teams have approached Coach K? The man isn't leaving Duke unless it's for 20X the amount he's making there... even at that I don't think he'd take it. He loves it there, and it's obvious he's not gonna leave. It's about as realistic as having Flip Saunders coaching us in 2016-2017
Coach K wouldn't leave for a stacked Laker team with KB in his prime, why would he come here? He is Duke until the day he dies.
