http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYPzCJ5Jg2M Interesting feedback, he mainly talked about how he never makes the right pass. His frustration reminds me of mine watching Rafer Alston. Right fit for Houston?
Morey might take Hughes over harrington. Since we're already getting Hill and we have Scola and Landry already...too many players at the 4 position.
Our SG is Trevor Ariza or Shane Battier, take your pick. Our starting center is the smallest in NBA history. We shouldn't be too picky right now. Plus, it's really not about this season for us and Harrington's contract expires at the end of the season.
Assuming this deal happens, Harrington can play the 3 as well. Ariza or Battier goes to the bench, ideally.
without looking at the comments or stats, i would still probably go with Hughes simply because with his limited playing time, he's shown that he can put the ball in the basket and has the ability to create and plays pretty good defense.
This trade has nothing to do with Harrington. Its all about the picks and Hill. Harrington would pretend to be a Rocket for 30 games and then its over. Or, as Bima suggested, he could be flipped to Portland or Chicago for another piece.
It'd be interesting to see where he plays in the rotation, considering he's a sf/pf where we have the most depth.
haha... it'd be one thing if he was talking about some advanced hard to understand stat. waytookrazy guy - it's called FG%...look it up. Larry Hughes is about as inefficient and NBA scorer as there is...year in and year out.
We are all right at the 4. We are weak at the 3. Battariza doesn't work well together and C-Bud needs more time to develop.
Aren't both Hughes and Harrington expiring at the end of the year? If so, who cares? Let them ride the bench. Take the one with the bigger contract so that we clear more payroll when it comes of the books. Hell, take them both. Neither is going to stay on the roster past this season.
Scola and Chuck at C, then Landry and Harrington at PF? Harrington and Chuck at C, then Scola and Landry at PF? Chuck at C, Scola and Landry at PF, and Harrington at SF?
I don't think that makes sense, technically. If they're both expiring, and they're being traded for an expiring, and it still works even though one is getting paid less than the other, than you are going to free up the $ amount of the player you're trading away regardless of who you take back. In fact, you'd want to take back the player who is paid less, so you pay less this year and get under the luxury tax. WIth that saving, Les is free to go buy draft picks again, if necessary.
Imagine if a team had Alston, Hughes and Ariza in their starting lineup. Fans wouldn't be allowed to sit under the baskets. Brick City.
