This "he wore down my defenses" crap pisses my off. There is a pretty common narrative where people screw people they shouldn't - things like "we were drunk", or "we couldn't help it, we just fell in love", etc.

If you leave your husband, or sleep around on your wife, or screw a minor, ultimately you chose to do it. There have been plenty of times when I had motive and opportunity, and rather than give in and hurt someone else, I walked away and essentially took a cold shower.

If you f**k someone, you make a choice to do it. You aren't a dog in heat. You can override physical desires if you choose to. Take responsibility. There is nothing more pathetic than someone trying to weasel out of what they chose to do.

I agree especially when you are the teacher. The only way I would be sympathetic is if he used or threatened her with force or was blackmailing her somehow. As a 34 year old very attractive woman I'm sure she's resisted the advances of many men.
