Harden is amazing man. Can you imagine if they played together? They’d spam PNRs and take turns punishing the switches. It would be better than Shaq/Kobe or Jordan/Pippen.
Still blasphemy. Olajuwon got mvp and defensive player of the year at the same time in a more physically tough era.
So because Hakeem got rings and James hasn’t it’s blasphemy? That’s so weak, I can remember all the haters back then wanting Hakeem traded and claiming he was faking his injury all hanging in his nuts once we won. Story isn’t over and to write off or bash a great player when we still don’t have the full picture is ignorant. Even Hakeem needed a rookie and a unpopular draft pick to step up to get us those rings.
Hakeem as your foundationary piece compared to Harden within a basketball team is comical get the hell outta here with that nonsense. I bet you Olajuwon not out here clanging free throws in the playoffs either.
It’s cool youngster, you didn’t watch the Sonics, Lakers constantly cut our postseason short. The nonsense is you crying about free throws when the dude put up 34 a game lol. If you’re a hater own it, and go hang on another teams nuts. Just don’t pretend to be a Rockets fan or understand basketball
Hakeem and Harden in the same sentence is fair, for now... Rockets couldn’t get past the Sonics, needed a little help to avoid them. Doesn’t mean they didn’t earn those titles because they surely did. Rockets are still close, I could see a title with the right moves next year. Hakeem got his first I think at 31 if I remember right. Now, Dream had that IT factor when it counted. While James puts up the numbers, we need to see big play after big play or the answer to the question may be something like... Hakeem and Harden in the same sentence should only come if talking about the regular season.
Seen it all Olajuwon never just shrunk under pressure as many times as Harden has and that's the truth. Y'all probably think Harden good for playoffs going forward but he will shrink again but hopefully he is playing alongside a real alpha type star player by then.
Harden has to get more key defensive stops like he did in the Utah series when he hit the ball out of Gobert hand to win the game. Wish that would have happened against Golden St... things like that build your clutch resume up.
Yeah, not to bring up FACTS but.... Houston should remember the #8 seed Nuggets beating the #1 Sonics.. Because the Sonics had the Rockets number. There might not have been a chip that year... And w/o that one 95 might not have happened.
Yeah there's still time, and my post regarding the Nuggets/Sonics is just a reminder of how right things had to go, it doesn't discredit Hakeem having to earn it etc, it just certainly made it a lot easier.
Difference is if Shawn Kemp or Gary Payton gets hurt in the middle of the playoff series I'd bet that 94 or 95 Rockets team wins that series. That's if we want to factor everything in.
