It does not improve the Raptors to be in the Playoffs......IMO....RJ has not been the All Star......

The Knicks were probably capped out as a Top 6, Top 5 team in the East.

Those 2 teams I have the least expectations when it comes to Playoffs race. Knicks are a tier above but not real that dominating presence.

Quickley is a rising star, watch him put up nice stats now that he'll have the opportunity to start.

Yeah, but it won't matter because the Pacers and Brooklyn are still better.

They have a deeper roster now but I don't see a Top player a la Brunson or Siakam in that trade.

Unless the Knicks can flip OG Anunoby and parts for Donovan Mitchell....now that would be something.

What happened is that Knicks traded 2 players for 1 who is probably not better than either of them. RJ is a decent player and IQ is very talented them and a 2nd round pick should get you Siakam not Anunoby. Sorry ass franchise man.

Lol, why are people acting like the Knicks got fleeced? RJ Barrett is atrocious and still has 3 years 80 mil left on his deal

OG is way better than him

Quickley is a dime a dozen scorer off the bench

he doesn’t look that special to me…maybe he blows up, but that wasn’t gonna happen on the Knicks…he plays 24 mpg with zero starts for them

RJ is literal trash on the court

I would easily rather be playing OG

this trade is just as much about getting off RJ’s atrocious deal, and all it took was a 24 mpg bench scorer and a 2nd round pick

This is more along my line of thinking. And weren't there rumors from last year that Toronto was wanting 3-4 1sts for OG? Expensive RJ, Quickley, and a 2nd rounder is quite a bit less than that. So if that was previously the going rate for OG, then the Knicks did pretty well in the trade.

RJ was their 2nd best player in the playoffs last season. He is not good but he isn't trash. More importantly OG isn't much better and they are gonna pay him instead and they are not gonna be significantly better. Also they were supposedly targeting Mitchell it's over after losing your 2 assets for OG.

Yeah now they don't have a backup PG. This trade will look even more terrible in a year or two.

If RJ was their 2nd best player last postseason, it was because everyone else beside Brunson was that bad, not because RJ was actually good last playoffs.

OG is significantly better than the likes of RJ and Quickley on defense…OG is a much more efficient scorer than RJ Barrett

RJ is not even an asset…he had negative value

Knicks have like 8 tradeable 1st round picks and salary filler like Grimes, Mitchell Robinson, etc

Mostly it should come down to how OG plays in NY, if he plays his best game then the Knicks actually did alright.

Lol so he was their 2nd best player i don't care about the reason why.

OG overally is not significantly better than any of them. OG is an overrated bb player.

Any 18-20 ppg guy is an asset. It's weird talking like he is Daishen Nix. He could become a great 6th man elsewhere.

Now they have to give up too many of their picks to get Mitchell who can't play defense, doesn't make others significantly better and is not a winner.

not caring about context is silly…being the 2nd best player when u still weren’t even good doesn’t mean anything…he was the rotten piece of food that had less flies on it then some other pieces…Congrats to him I guess? He wasn’t good in last year’s playoffs

a bunch of players can average 18-20 ppg if u give them 15 shots a night no matter what their FG% or efficiency happens to be…that’s nothing special, and that’s not an asset…especially when it still has 3/80 attached to it

they would have to give up even more picks if they were trying to pawn off negative asset RJ Barrett in a deal for a star
