Yes, the ABs he's been having have been flat out terrible. He's not seeing the ball and as a result, we just gave one more out. We lose nothing putting in a better hitter.
I just can't get over how in the last 3 home games they haven't been able to score more than 2 runs. It takes some serious anti-clutchness to pull something like that off. This one really stings because they really are just screwing themselves.
called for Chirinos bunt. Takes Greinke out too early. Pitches Osuna early. Leaves Osuna in too long. Doesn’t walk Soto. Doesn’t pinch hit Chirinos who has sucked.
Any chance Jim changes the name from the "Astros" to "Lobsters" this offseason? I'm out. Can't watch them celebrate at our house. Good season. Too bad offense came up small in the biggest moment...at home no less. So much for home field advantage. (**** that score one early, do nothing the rest of the game) Farewell Gerrit. It was a pleasure watching you pitch. Zack, you deserved better tonight. Anyways... Offseason starts tomorrow.
I'm a very casual baseball fan but i do support any team with houston across the chest and i feel for all you guys that follow this **** all season long. Stay strong, fellas.
I remember the good old times when we had back to back home runs. Would love to see something similar in the bottom of the 9th
What a suckass, unfortunate game. At least we pushed it to 7 after falling 0-2. Stros can still win tonight too, true.
You're banking everything on a pitcher that's on 3 days rest, and coming out of the bullpen for the first time in his entire career. You'd take that over Harris who has shown all season long and in the playoffs to shut down those kind of situations? It's easy to say now...but I think it was the right decision at the time.
Well at least it comes down to Springer Altuve Brantley and hopefully Bregs. Can’t say they aren’t getting one final shot at the ring!
I don't watch much regular season baseball. I was under the impression the Astros were really good at getting players on. While also hitting home runs. But it's been mostly feast or famine, and mostly famine for them this playoffs. Why does every player - except Brantley - effectively swing for the fences almost every time? The 17 team was special because of all the little things they did. This is still obviously a super good squad, but between head scratching manager decisions, and the hitters always swinging for the fences, seems like identity has changed a bit.
These games of leading 2-0 or 2-1 till the 5th - 7th .... Then all hell breaking loose was rough. Bats were pathetic. We get on base. Cause high pitch counts... But could never seal the deal and get them home...
