Sunday Noon on FOX Announcers: Chris Myers, Mark Schlereth Next week is the bye, if I don't start Week 8 by that Tuesday, someone @ me so I will remember to do it.
Yes, we gave Atlanta their only win this year, but we beat the Jags 37-17 and the Steelers 30-6, and those teams have a combined 6 wins. That's the way we need to play the Saints. The Saints haven't beat anyone with a winning record this year, and the 3 teams they beat have a combined 3 wins, so maybe they aren't as big of a defensive threat as the numbers show them to be. Also, Carr has been playing with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder the past couple weeks and has been sacked 15 times. I hope our old Texan Tyrann Mathieu isn't the one to claim Stroud's first interception. We can't afford dropped passes or a poor rushing game. We also have to be able to stop the rush, especially in the red zone. With Dell ruled out It very well could be a fight to the finish, but I'm hoping Collins has a heck of a game, and with our home field advantage, a couple sacks on Carr, and an interception or forced fumble recovery we end up with another upset win. Last week brought me back down a few inches to earth.. which means I wasn't too high on their asses anyway.. Saints- 24 Texans - 10 That high may never come back..
I expect the Texans to have the lead with 2 minutes remaining in the game. Better hope they have the ball on offense. =(
Though Derek Carr being on the other side offers hope, I don't feel good about this game. Saints defense is nasty.
Maybe it's not as nasty as it seems though. I mean the 3 teams they beat only have a combined 3 wins this season. They haven't beat anyone with a winning record and we beat two of the division leaders badly.
Carr has been sacked 4 more times than Stroud. Maybe we can add to his 15 sacks. Maybe we give him his 3rd interception too.
Expect the worst, hope for the best. I expect a score of 31 -17 Saints, but I hope that's flipped and that we have 5 sacks.
