When Devers signed the contract he signed he was expected at the very least to be a team player. With the money comes responsibility and Devers didn't live up to that responsibility.

With this said he's still a star level hitter and I'll bet you he will be willing to play 1B with the Giants. He's a big add to a Giants lineup that needed a bat badly.

 

Wife surprised me with tickets to the game yesterday.

• 9th and 10th innings were so loud my ears were ringing on the way home. Playoff atmosphere yesterday!
• Altuve looks like he's having fun again. This team can't win unless they're having fun.
• Hader signed autographs nonstop for a good 45 minutes before the game. CLASS ACT.
• 27-13 at home this year. I wonder what the difference has been.

 

Strange weekend. 4 of the 5 teams in the AL West swept their weekend series. Not sure if that's ever happened before.

Just seems like a pretty rapid fall to flush all he has done for them in the span of 3 months…. And there was reason to question the communication shared prior to them going after Bregman.

I think its best they mutually part ways as things got further toxic… but the salary dump implications still hold a lot of validity as if it was just really personal, Henry would have paid some team ‘something’ to make him go away.
