You know who doesn't need an extra second? Bill O'Brien, because he's gonna trade all of them away. "**** your draft picks, I'll probably be gone next year anyways!!!" -- Bill O'Brien
But Deshaun hasn’t played many qbs that are the same caliber as Drew Brees. Not to mention the weaker defense. Kamara is gonna be running all over us without clowney.
You can’t be the best run defense in the afc due to one player. There defensive line and linebackers are all really good against the run.
Clowney is one of the best at setting the edge. You will see this on full display week one with Kamara Sweeps.
Also Kareem and Honey Badger were very good against the run for their positions. So it’s not just Clowney.
Gonna take time for our Oline to gel.. Gonna take even longer to take our Oline serious without laughing ... So 43- 24..
New O-line, that hasn't had much time to practice together as this specific unit, going into one of the louder venues in the NFL, on a Monday night, doesn't sound optimum. Nor does going against one of the higher octane offenses in the NFL, down your 2nd best pass rusher, and probably the best run defender in the league. Plus, as mentioned upthread, losing two secondary guys who were unusually helpful against the run. This could get really ugly. OTOH, there's Deshaun. And he now has Kenny Stills to throw to. And Will Fuller is healthy, for now. Preconceptions and plans have a way of getting shredded on Week 1. If you can't be irrationally exuberant about your team before the first game, when can you? I hope they win.
I think many "fans" follow the Texans just to make fun of them and talk about how dysfunctional they are. I for one am getting tired of the whole thing. I grew up an Oiler fan and have followed the Texans ever since they started. I am wondering whether I want to even follow them anymore. I am a big fan of Watson and that is keeping me here, but I am hanging on by a thread. It is hard to change teams. I might just dump the NFL altogether. Working on it. As a child I was HUGE NFL fan and have wonderful memories. It is just not the same anymore. I come from a law enforcement/military family and the anthem kneeling really turned me off.
