I see us winning 13-10 or losing 23-13.. Either way its 13 for us!... but we will amass 425 yrs of offense with Watson accounting for 400 of it..

Eta: nah, I hope we lose enough for BoB to be fired. Hopefully something happens to where McNair must sell the team.

You're right. An article was posted earlier in the week that spelled out Watson's percentages. Far less play action, misdirection and especially shotgun so far this season. Seems BOB is trying to make Watson more of an under center QB. BOB should just release the Kraken and stay out of the way.

Just another example of his bad instincts. Talk about fixing something that wasn't broke. He's a terrible coach in game management, motivation, and scheme. We are so Fvcked.

Q: Who do you put the majority of the blame on for this team’s poor start? If Bill O’Brien is the main culprit, is it time for him and the Texans to go their separate ways? – Kyle Jones

A: As you know, Kyle, O’Brien took over a 2-14 team and went 9-7 three consecutive years and won two division titles. Last season, they were 4-12. They lost 13 starters and had 23 players on injured reserve. This season, they’re 0-3, and losing the last two was inexcusable. I blame O’Brien and his assistants for three consecutive slow starts. I blame O’Brien for not calling a timeout when they still had a chance to beat New England. I blame O’Brien for some poor play-calling like the 2-point conversion pass that failed miserably against the Giants. Here are some of the things I don’t blame O’Brien for: Lamar Miller fumbling at the Giants’ 25. Deshaun Watson throwing into coverage and being intercepted three times in the end zone. False starts against the offensive line. I don’t blame O’Brien for the defense cratering in the fourth quarter of the last two games. In other words, there’s enough blame to go around.

Q: What can we do to convince Bill O’Brien to let Deshaun Watson loose and stop trying to make him a pocket passer? That’s not his game. – Wendell Fobbs

A: Watson is on a pace to be sacked 53 times and get hit another 170 times, Wendell. He’s been under pressure on almost 50 percent of his drops. He’s thrown for almost 700 yards in the last two games. He needs to learn to throw from the pocket. All the great ones do. Those with movement skills learn to use that part of the game when they can’t throw from the pocket. Watson has started nine games in his career. He’ll keep getting better.

Q: How short is O’Brien’s leash right now? If they cobble together another 8-8 or 9-7 season, does he still keep his job? – Nick

A: Nick, his four-year extension kicks in next year. He’s not going anywhere unless they totally bomb out and finish, say, 2-14. I could see him hire an offensive coordinator next year and turn over the play-calling duties to him.

Q: Would 0-5 be enough to finally move on from O’Brien? If not, what will it take? He takes responsibility and says everyone needs to do more, starting with him, then they lose again, rinse and repeat? – Mike Harris

A: I’d be shocked if O’Brien gets fired during the season, Mike. Who would they promote as interim coach? Romeo Crennel? His defense has cost them the Tennessee game and possibly the Giants’ game. I just don’t see the McNairs making a change during the season.

Q: Any chatter whether or not the front office is inquiring about Le’Veon Bell? What are the Steelers asking for, and would the Texans be willing to meet that price and be players for a potential trade? – Chris Quay

A: I seriously doubt it, Chris. They want to hold on to their No. 1 pick and two picks in the second round. Plus, Bell wants a huge contract from his new team. The running game isn’t the issue here. Until they improve the offensive line, Watson is going to be running for his life. The one thing I’m sure of right now: The Texans will use their first-round pick on an offensive tackle, and they might be able to get the top prospect in the country the way they’re going.

Q: You’ve seen pretty much everything in regards to the two NFL franchises Houston has had. After 20 years now, would you rather have the Oilers/Titans or the Texans in Houston right now? And which franchise would you want for the next 20? My vote is the Oilers/Titans – intergalactic_J

A: The Oilers have been gone so long, J, I’ve gotten used to the Texans. I have much better relationships with players and coaches from the Oilers than I do with the Texans, but that’s a sign of the times. Media gets very little time with the players and coaches compared to the way it used to be when we were able to talk to them before and after practice and get to know them. NFL rules for media don’t allow that now. I’ll always have better relationships with the Oilers than the Texans. The league has changed so much in its attitude toward the media.

Q: Why is ownership inept compared to other organizations? It’s pathetic (and) should take notes from Astros and Rockets. – PoppinP

A: Well, PoppinP, let’s see. The Astros were the worst team in the league for multiple years by design. What would be the reaction here if the Texans were the worst team for, say, three years in a row? It took the Astros 56 years to win a title. The Texans have been in existence since 2002. As for the Rockets, I believe after they moved to Houston from San Diego in 1971, they didn’t win a title to 1994-95, right? So the Texans have a few years to catch up.

Q: How come OB hasn’t incorporated a more creative play design like a Sean McVay or an Andy Reid offense? He said he was building the playbook for Watson, but it looks like a playbook designed for a non-athletic QB. – Garrett S. Wright

A: You’re right, Garrett, about this season. But nobody complained about O’Brien’s play calling last year during Watson’s 6 starts when they averaged 34 points, and he was on a record-setting pace for 43 touchdown passes. Everyone talked about how creative O’Brien’s passing game was. It would help if their offensive line was competent, which it isn’t. I suspect the Rams and Chiefs have very good offensive lines.
