Not winning the World Series would not make this a “tragic season”, not even close. Barring a true choke job/collapse, nothing would make this season tragic. This is baseball, anyone can beat anyone in a series.
its not like the astros have not had there share of injuries, 3 of our top 5 players have missed significant amount of time, not to mention the backend of our starting pitching. compound that by the fact that we have had to play players from AA bc some of the AAA players have been hurt like corbin martin (before being traded) or whitley (that one might be a "injury" in the needed time off sense)
The Astros had a chunk of the season without Altuve, Correa, and Springer as well. The AL lead could be different either way. But yes, the Yankees and Dodgers will be tough to beat. I'd be nervous even if the Astros had home field advantage.
Game replay is on now for those of us that didn't get to see the Astros score 2 touchdowns this afternoon.
The Astros were very close to winning the WS last year. With a healthy Altuve and Correa we beat Boston and we likely win the WS. The 2017 WS obviously made it not as painful but last year we were right there.
Who ever gets hot in the playoffs usually wins it. If Astros get hot, nobody can beat them. Not the Yankees, not the Dodgers. The Astros are that good. However...if the Astros are in a slump, ball bounces the wrong way, the Baltimore Orioles can sweep us in a 5 game series. That’s baseball.
