Another embarrassing loss at home. 1 hit against the last place team is unacceptable. Even the Yankees are scoring 5 runs in their losses. These types of games are happening far too often
Pathetic Astros faced THREE pitchers today with a 4+ ERA for 8+ innings --- including one who was 5+ --- and get shutout with one hit. F******* pathetic
Long season. Exactly. No need to batten down all water tight hatches... Boston destroyed the better part of the first month. They are in second. Yankees are on a ridiculous streak. These things happen. You can’t win every game, the team just needs to keep getting better. It’s about peaking at the right time. Easier said than done
The players complained about the batters eye last year and a small section to the right of that eye was painted. If this is still an issue, management needs to see what else can be done to improve that area for the players.
meh, it's just a loss. It's not like hot melting lava is oozing through the streets incinerating the city. am I rite? this home offense.
I mentioned that it'll be by the end of the season... I've heard it several times on the Astros radio talk..
To be fair, most Astros radio talk isn’t overly plugged into the minor leagues. Only way he’s called up this season is if there is a drastic need in the bullpen and he’s just mowing down hitters. He’s not gonna get a chance to start a game in Houston this year.
No...Whitley needs to pitch this year before he can even be considered to help out. Considering his drug suspension has prevented him from showing he is capable, there is no sure bet that he can contribute this year. Were you even aware that Whitley was on a drug suspension? Once they bring up Tucker, I suspect they will put him in the lineup to stay. If they are not ready to do that yet, there is no reason to bring him up. I’m all for trusting the front office to do what is best for the team and best for the player.
It's a long season, but we now have enough of a sample size at MMP that I'm now getting a little concerned with our home offense. It was already an issue last season (especially the first half of the season IIRC), and so far it's worse this season. Something about our ballpark is affecting our hitters. Even Altuve has looked bad at times. The Astros we've seen on the road are the real Astros.
If Gattis of all people didn't squeak a hit out of the infield, then this team would have been no-hit. Unf**kingbelievable!
This is game 11 this season where we have scored one run or fewer.... basically more than every 4th game we do this.
Astros' home offense improved over the course of last season, and was believed to be a non-issue by playoffs ?? Maybe not the latter, but the former, no doubt. Maybe.. and AGAIN... Somebody should make a thread regarding Home Offense. The Road McCullers Thread yielding flip-results within two starts. Lance's AWAY sucked beyond belief his first 10+ starts. Then.... Vuala
For all we know, had Gattis made an out in that situation, the Astros may have gone on to score 10 runs.
our offense probably sucks cause we have like 5 aces on our staff (4 and 1 borderline in keuchel if you wanna still consider him that) smh. curse our pitching for being so good. aces hardly get run support. a weird, but common theme in the league
