He will adapt (hopefully) to the ML level in time. He needs time.

 

Amazing stat of the day... Altuve has now gone 42 consecutive plate appearances without striking out. Longest current streak in the majors.

 

To me, this is akin to a player making a "rookie" mistake in the NFL, yet being expected to not make the exact same mistake as a senior in college. His error tonight was from not using his head. There was no way he was going to hold Span to a double. No player would have been able to prevent a triple. There was no reason for him to hurry as he did, which appeared to lead to his difficulty in picking up the ball.

 

I didn't mean he was excused for the error. Just that their are reasons for it whether they are the ones I cited or not.

 

I understand. His coaches need to figure out how to fix whatever his problem is on routine plays. The first thing I would do if I was manager, would be to remove him from the 4 spot (after giving him a game off).

 

Trade Altuve, this team doesnt deserve him. Pathetic!
