that was awesome. it was actually a boring game til OT started. I hate PKs to end the game though. Play til you roll over.
Houston is 2-2 so far today!! Come on Rox, finish off the H-town sweep on "Super Sunday" Totally sweet!
Sweet! I was nervous during those penalty kicks at end, but glad Houston won! Always nice to have a championship for Houston. I've never really followed soccer or been a fan, but now that Houston has it I might be able to get into it a little more if I make it out to see them at UH some. It's still hard though if they aren't on tv on a regular basis. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but always root for Houston teams Good to see the win.
I don't get a chance to ever watch Dynamo games, or maybe I've missed some on ESPN/2 a few times, but made it a point to watch this one. Damn exciting stuff in the end. The first goal was the loudest I've yelled in a long time.
I'm upset ABC isn't showing the trophy presentation anywhere in the country. Look for it on the MLS website later today.
Awesome win! Too bad ABC13 only covered the win for about 10 secs. bleh. I'm dying for some post game champagne video. Did they mention the Mattress mac buses and cars driving up etc. ?
I don't think so, but the Dynamo sure did earn the name by the way they played in the playoffs. Great game! Great Season! Great Team! Now all we need is a brand new Soccer Specific Stadium to hold the trophy!
yeah rob stone the announcer made mention of clutch city when they were showing fans at the start of the game.

I think they should play a bunch of 10 minute overtimes, and after each one, if it's still tied, each team has to pull 1 or 2 players off the field. That's a good way to guarantee it will end (eventually you'll be 2 on 2 or something), but still let players compete instead of the pk system. Plus, it adds a lot of strategy to OT in terms of who you take off the field and how the play changes.
Essentially, it would be PK's in that situation, as well. The more players you take off the field, the more likely you'll have an unlimited number of breakaways and 1-on1 situations.
