Past 7 am can't go to bed and fall asleep now...gonna keep watching those walk off HR videos for another hour or so
JV: Every day we come to the ballpark, we know what we're here for. It's not to play video games or whatever. It's showtime. We're the Astros, we're here to win. That's how you take a punch like we did tonight in the 9th and turn right back around and punch back. (Scherzer?) Gotta grind. Put good ABs against him. They're not gonna give in. The teams with SP are in the World Series.
Carlos Correa: “They are savages...but in this jungle that is the American League, we are the apex predators out there.” Yessir!!!
The best thing for me is I have 2 coworkers who are Yankees fans. Glad I don't need to hear any taunting from them. Well I don't think 1 would have but 1 kept on trash talking the Astros since the ALDS. Although I think it was to get me fired up since he would add the odd compliment. I didn't say anything back. Stayed humble when it was 3-1 and will continue to stay humble. I'll only gloat if they win the whole thing.
Alex Rodriguez just said this was the first playoff game the Yankees have lost to a walk off HR since Bill Mazeroski's 1960 World Series winner in the bottom of the 9th of Game 7. Think of the historical significance of what we just witnessed Jose Altuve do. Wow.
Altuve is the best pure hitter the Astros have ever had. The Astros don’t win the World Series in 2017 without his numerous big hits in the postseason (three homers off Sale; single in game two of the 2017 ALCS against Chapman that set the stage for Correa’s walk off double; three-run homer off Maeda in game 5 of the World Series.) Obviously, they aren’t going to the World Series this year without his big solo homer in the first inning of Cole’s game three win in New York, and tonight’s two-run walk off homer, either.
Once again, we demonstrated our greatness. Just like against the Dodgers. For NY to tie it up, and for us to respond like the champions we are. Something to behold indeed.
