Calculating an ERA based off of one game is silly. He was very disappointing today, for sure. But 8-2 with a 3.00 ERA since we traded for him is basically as good as anyone could have reasonably expected.
What’s w us playing like ass every time we’re in Tampa?? It’s bewildering how terrible we play there.
I kind of want to see all the bats come out with chips on their shoulders tomorrow. You've still got HFA and a CYA candidate pitching Game 5. Just go out tomorrow and try to break yourselves out of your slumps, and if it doesn't work, return to form for Game 5. This lackluster, passive batting is not going to cut it in the ALCS no matter how awesome our pitching is.
Drive for show and putt for dough......NOW is crunch time and he failed miserably....Cole & JV did their part...giving up 1/2 the runs combined that he did today.
I won't get to watch game tomorrow if it's an afternoon game but hope they go ahead and end this series. Winner take all games are nerve-racking.
Did the Astros think all they had to do was take the field today and Tampa would lay down? Sweep would have been nice. But Tampa does have the best team era and won 96 games. So they are no slouch. Today’s game has shown me one thing better do what we can to retain Cole. Any thoughts of Greinke being our number 2 stud are laughable.
Guys their #1 pitcher (who by the way is the best pitcher in the AL who is not JV or Cole) was going against our #3. Tip of the hat to Morton who is a gamer and won both his starts this postseason. Greinke was disappointing but the Rays can hit homers like they did today. All in all this is why home field and our 2 aces are so critical. If this goes 5 you will damn sure see why. Let’s see how Urquidy does tomorrow and hopefully Springer and Brantley wake up.
The people who rarely post in the Astros forum are not shockingly littering this place with some trash ass takes.
