It was nice to see Woody get out of that inning unscathed, with a nice Everett play to boot.

I had fun watching Woody stymie these guys with slow-slower-slowest stuff... reminds me when I used to pull my hair out and wonder why the Astros weren't pounding him.

 

You're absolutely right. Guy's a grinder, knows how to pitch, has a plan.

That pitch Dunn hit, he had no business hitting that well. Then again, same with Lance's HR.

 

Lidge in uncharted waters in his "comeback"... actually being entrusted to pitch the 8th with a 1 run lead.

Here's a big opportunity for Lidge, in a crucial situation against the heart of the Cincinnati lineup.

 

Mo seems impervious to these sorts of things. I've been talking **** about him for just about a full season.

Man, Pence looks lost at the plate today, flying open on everything. Not sure he could square up an outside pitch with a boat oar.

 

OMG! I thought Lidge just blew it...again.

 

Cause he pitched 7 2/3 innings and gave up 2 runs? (IIRC)

 

For the record, Dunn did not just swing at the good slider... he's just that much of a free swinger.
