If/when they add the 13th pitcher, who goes? Kemp? White? If the nerdcave thinks Alvarez is ready, then he's ready, if not then there are other options at DH not named Tyler White...sorta rotate Kemp/Diaz/Jake in the field and give a different regular a day at DH once a week or something.
The wave is lame. However, fans pay their own way and can do whatever they want(within the confines of the rules).
If they add a 13th pitcher I would think it would be Deetz, Perez, or Valdez replacing White. Then they can move Alvarez onto the 40 man and bring him up after the super 2 deadline. If they want to replace White with a bat in the near future I would expect Tucker, Fisher, or Straw. Remember, the Astros also have Joe Smith coming back sometime in the 2nd half of the season. They might try and hold him back until September to keep roster flexibility until then.
