    A contract that was a year too long would be problematic in 2025, but wouldn't change anything about today. And last year, April was his worst month with an OPS lower than he has now.

    Also, I'm not sure why pitchers would adjust to him midseason - it's not like he was a rookie they had never seen before. It's way too early to be worrying about any individual player at this point. For every Abreu, there's a Dubon. All the sample sizes are way too small to get any kind of meaning.

    The real question is did he upgrade '22 Gurriel?

    Will Hunter offset losing JV's production at least decently?

    Will Altuve not get injured again wearing a different unif... okay well at least that's over

    that’s the thing. I’m cool with where we are and just enjoying baseball being back. All I wanted was a World Series title in my lifetime and now I got 2. A very typical slow start to April is nothing to be as panicky as some posters are.
