Free Agent after next season. This will be his last year of arbitration.

Which, when considering the history of the Marlins, probably puts him on the trade block.

Is Pence hurt? I'm watching Gamecast and it shows him 0-1 replaced by BB.

Edit: Gamecast says he injured his hip. Anybody know anything about it?

At least that sounds very minor.

Oh yea, the replays of him running to 1st didn't look bad at all. Probably just a tweak and it gives Bogie a chance to play some more.

It's alright. It is tough to sweep a 4 game series. Th'stros will just get the next two games.

I realize this has been beaten to death, but Happ really needs work on his control this off season. I know career wise, he is closer to ~3 BB/9 innings as opposed to his 4.6 BB/9 innings this year, and he could simply be rusty due to the injury.

However, Even 3 BB/9 innings is somewhat high. It is really costing him the ability to go long into games, particularly ones he is keeping the other team off balance. They take him out of games early, and once in awhile get him in trouble with big innings. Control and walks are really the only thing keeping him from being a #2 starter.

Yeah. He won't be more than a middle rotation starter unless he sharpens his command. He's been playing over his head in the majors and is due for some regression if he keeps walking too many batters. I think his true talent level is probably somewhere around to 4.00 ERA right now.

    Roy O's line tonight: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K, 99 pitches

They flashed a stat after his last start indicating that he was only the 2nd pitcher in like 100 years to have 7 wins and a sub 2.00 ERA in his first 10 starts with a new team.

Unfortunately, he won't get the win tonight even if the Phillies win. It's 1-0 Phillies right now but they scored in the 8th.

I think that the Phillies actually acquired two huge pieces in Roy and BRAD LIDGE. Lidge looks to have gotten his mojo back again and getting him straight might end up being just as important.
