Maybe the Astros should take notes...employ some of these tactics to make up for Keuchel/LMJ. TBH, Feliz (while regressing as a reliever) needs to be given a routine and possibly get back to starting. Seems like a routine would serve him well.
I don't think we have the same luxury because our starters aren't as good as the Indians. The Indians have that luxury because they can count on Kluber/Carrasco/Salazar (maybe not since he came off the DL) to go 6-7 strong. Fister/McHugh/Fiers/Musgrove are all wildcards to have a quality start at this point in the season. Bregman is such a beast my goodness.
the kid doesn't even admire it. he just puts his head down and runs as hard as he can. that's not how we do things here, son. =)
On the other hand, it's also hard for their pitchers to establish a rhythm. How many pitchers is Francona slated to run through tonight? Short leashes for everyone.
Indeed. I'm just glad he is showing the front office that the truly special ones can do some early damage... despite having only 500 minor league plate appearances. Hopefully this helps further the precedent that they all don't have to be held to the strictest of pre-set developmental timetables (and on the flip side, the slow-steady-patient model hasn't necessarily worked out right away for some of the other promotions). The White Sox not accepting the Sale trade looking better and better (provided the Astros can find that pitching in the off-season).
This happens with Altuve far too often. The throw beat him in plenty of time, Altuve needs to make that tag better. Coaches not working with him on this?
