Yes, yes, yes.... it was a horrific weekend series against a really bad Oakland team. From Hinch getting cute and handing a game to Oakland, to the bullpen blowing up and the offense not showing up. However, it was only one series. Let us wait and see how they play heading into October and beyond. There is still a lot of really good players on the Astros. The offense is very good and deep. The Astros pitching statistically isn't all that great this season, but the pen and rotation is shortened in the post season and should benefit the Astros more than most teams. Verlander, Dallas K, McCullers, and McHugh is a good post season rotation..... 3 of the 4 are capable of shutting down a team in the playoffs and are big game pitchers. McHugh is similar to other rotations #4 starters. The bullpen in the post season is going to be deep and we are not going to see Sipp, Gregerson, Martes or Clippard. Peacock, Devo, Musgrove and Giles will pitch virtually all the important post season pen innings. All three of the set up men are capable of pitching multiple innings. Morton and Harris may get some innings if they are healthy and pitching well. The Astros are a 96-98 win team and dealt with a lot of injuries this year. They have a really good team and will have a good chance of advancing.... same with Cleveland, Dodgers, Diamondbacks.... Red Sox, Cubs and Rockies cannot be counted out either. Only one team goes home completely satisfied.
