I would not understand that sort of logic at all.... and if it truly happens, whoever ordered that deserves to get fired. Anyways, the Skaggs' tragedy still weighs heavily on that team... the media is making this plate collision story a bigger story than it is (at least within each team).
Not hard to understand if you are an Angel. Marisnick bowled over their catcher, broke his face (requiring surgery), put him on the IL indefinitely and was suspended for it. "Baseball justice" has been handed down for far less what Marisnick did, intent be damned.
If they hit Jake you just take it and shut up. If they hit Altuve, Bregman, Yordan, Brantley, or Springer you throw at Trout, Ohtani, or Upton.
There isn’t much of that at all in the game, unless guys are legitimately trying to show the other team up or intentionally trying to injure players.
If the tables were reversed, there's no way our former MLB catcher manager shoots his mouth off like that. Hinch is way too mature for that. "Weak, stupid, and predictable": not just for describing Ausmus' batting anymore.
"Intentionally" is a highly subjective term in the minds of baseball players when it comes to revenge. See Machado v. Red Sox just last year.
Machado had a long conflicting history vs the Red Sox before last year... that was merely the tipping point.
No, Machado's slide into Pedroia and the retaliatory beaning from Barnes was the start not the tipping point. I know your MO is to unnecessarily debate things like this Nick. No need to hijack the game thread here. I think there is a chance someone from the Angel's plunks Jake and if so, athough YOU may not understand, others will. Lets leave it at that.
