When the history books are written, I hope they accurately state that this country missed the mark by not putting Andrew Yang forth on the Democratic ticket.

It's so frustratingly painful to me.

I wish I could read that op-ed but for some reason my Amazon account won't link.

So I love Andrew Yang, but I have to strongly disagree with some of what he wrote there. One of his key points is that Asian-Americans should show their American-ness now more than ever. Why should the onus be on the Asian Americans, who had nothing to do with the virus, to prove their American-ness to prevent racist attacks? I'm proud of my heritage and I wear it on my sleeve. I'm proud to be American and I wear it on my sleeve. I don't have to prove anything to anybody.

And besides, the fault lies with those uneducated enough to make racist remarks/attacks in the first place, not those who are victim to them. But I understand that Andrew grew up in a different time, when Asian people were seen as "outsiders" far more then now.

Otherwise this article is a pretty interesting view into his thoughts.

Sometimes I just come back to this thread and reflect on what could have been. Good times, now we're stuck with Biden, :(

Every time I see this thread bumped, it makes me sad. Hopefully, he'll shore up his resumé and run in the future.

This was from almost a year ago. By the end of the primary, he was my #1 choice and I'm still absolutely convinced he would be the best candidate to move our country forward. I hate that I have to pick up from two people with terrible records and no ideas on how we can actually progress as a society.
