There are soooo many. It’s difficult to tell a casual fan just how much can or does go on. To a casual fan the game may look less exciting, because the action is so different. There are many games within the game, moves that can be/are made. The details in the game of baseball are ridiculously beautiful. I love this game.
Glad the Red Sox absolutely crushed the Angels in a 3 game series putting us right back up there near the top in our division. Hoping when we face Boston it's a competitive series.
Boston outscored the Angels 27-3! Thats right, twenty seven to three! While I was glad to see the Angels fall, Boston has become the team to watch in terms of competition to the AL throne. Their dominance thus far should draw the attention of some folks around here.
The Astros would have the advantage with every possible pitching matchup. They also play in a tougher division, and will likely have a tougher road to winning the division or making the playoffs than the Astros. That being said, they have a great lineup. Betts looks to be back in MVP form, Benintendi is a year older, and they don't have any for-sure outs at the bottom of the order like the Astros do currently.
Gene Elston used to say "the longer he goes without getting a hit, the closer he comes to getting one". Not sure that would apply to Jake, he's going so bad right now.
The Gattis triple play if you want to see it. https://deadspin.com/mariners-turn-triple-play-after-evan-gattis-forgets-how-1825399294
Not so sure about this. While the Yankees will in the end be a stronger club than the Angels (maybe), the AL East has the Orioles and the Rays who are fodder for everyone else. As for the fodder in our own division, we are only 4-3 vs Texas. Yet to play the A's. At the moment, the AL West is a couple games stronger than the AL East (overall) by a couple games.
Astros LFs are hitting better than the Red Sox's catchers. The Astros lineup, if not the best at the end of the year, will likely be close to anyone. I'm hoping my mid-June any concerns about Astros lineup will be gone. AL East also has Blue Jays. Only way AL West is a tougher division than the AL East this year is if the Astros are the best team in baseball by enough to make up for having three mediocre, but not horrible teams.
I agree, the lineup change wasn't a panic move, but apparently that didn't stop someone from considering it as one
