One of the posters in the thread thinks they know more about Austin than I do but I’m a 99er so I obviously a superior historian.
East Austin was gentrified due to the large tech population moving into town.
Before that it was a mainly Hispanic neighborhood with some minor crime such as theft and vandalism.

They got offended when I said East Austin was never hood. But in comparing Oakland to Houston which another simple minded woke poster mentioned and East Austin, they proclaim ‘they got crime too breh’.

I’ve been all over the country, Oakland is dangerous and it’s a small city . Therefore you cannot compare to Houston .
Also the crime is significant compared to the rest of the country , where the governor has to send 190 state officers to help.
East Austin and Austin in general is extremely safe even when it wasn’t gentrified

I know cause I was there. This makes people mad cause 99ers like @Kim and @Space Ghost are way smarter and speak through experience

people in California will tell you East Austin is Shangrila for safety compared to Oakland
