I don't live there but i'm about 30 minutes away and ya oakland has always been really bad. Obviously everything around here is getting much worse though, even my little suburb is a shell of what it once was safety wise, which sucks
Good thing Oakland is far far away from Germany then. FYI I was just in Oakland for 4 days in November. I thought it was a fun city, but yes it’s more rough and certainly more blue collar than the cities right next to it a stones throw away. But growing up in Houston I admire that about Oakland. It’s just amazing when people come on a HOUSTON Texas fan site and try to dunk on big cities that are very comparable to Houston in terms of crime, population, homeless issues, cleanliness, etc. It’s called living in a big city you elitist fu$k.
