He had a career year at 32 and has not been anywhere near that prolific a rebounder over his career. Good but hardly as good as your 1 year stats would indicate ...and likely to drop off from age and playing in the WC.

I've been saying all along we should try to offer Howard for Thomas straight up. All things considered its a fair trade since Howard is still an effective PF. They lose a ton of defense by trading for Howard, but then again this is Isiah Thomas we're talking about here.

if we got him for sura and baker or wesley and ward then fine.

the problem is, the knicks are looking to get something "good" in return. i doubt they settle for our offer.

as good of a guy Kurt T. is... I don't think the Rockets should go after him. The Rockets are the oldest team and an addition of Kurt Thomas would not alleviate the age any. He is a great player but at the four spot, the Rockets need a younger player (perhaps from the draft?) who can come in and help the rockets out with athleticism

If you could pull off some kind of Howard-Thomas based swap, it's a no brainer. Sure we need to get younger, we could still draft PF if that happened.

Forget Kurt Thomas looks like he is going to the Suns for Quentin Richardson and a future pick. Being reported by I think realgm.com. Won't go down until after game 7 tonight

If true, that is a horrible deal for Phoenix. Is it just to save on years of contract?

They sign QRich, he has a big year and then dump him with a 1st for an undersized, aging C/PF with a bad contract. Just doesn't seem very logical.

    the suns slow down now.

    amare
    kurt
    marion
    jj
    nash

they get slower and bigger. both help us out in a matchup. after we get a new PF and a SG we can beat them in a series.

as for our PF hunt, this narrows our choices so we can have a better chance of guessing.

Kurt Thomas brings the Suns alot more toughness on the defensive end and no matter what his age is he averages a double-double. Now all they have to do is draft a Fransisco Garcia type of shooter in the draft to help replace Richardson.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just play Barbosa as a 2. They were pretty unhappy with his inability to play the point well when Nash was out. I figure they'll bring in a more dependable pass-first PG and a decent 3. Play Thomas off the bench at either the 4 or 5. At least now they'd have someone to help guard the likes of Duncan.
