If my assertion is true and the pieces were as far as the missles could go, it's still substantially short of the West Coast. Hawaiians might want to start packing up if things go bad, however.

You're right, the shortest route to/from Asia is over Alaska. And NK does officially have missiles that can reach Alaska and Hawaii (read an article in Time about it).
