Between the pricing and the new controller, Nintendo may have won me back as a customer. It all depends on the sensitivity of the controller.

Wow, the first pics of the control and a similar video were released at the same time. How could you have gone this long, past 2 E3s, and not know what the controls do? This is amazing, it's like the M Knight's the Village.

I just wasn't paying attention at all to Nintendo. Then a friend sent me this demo.

Word. Third parties haven't done anything worthwhile on a Nintendo console since the SNES days.

Price has won me. Maybe this is my natural skepticism, but I think the controller will turn out to be a glorified Eyetoy. Hope I'm very wrong and it takes the world by storm.

I think that's one of the more exciting things about Wii IIRC. Supposedly a lot of 3rd party companies want in and are developing games expecially for the Wii. I saw the control schemes for Madden Wii and it looks very very interesting, you actually flip your controller at the player you want to throw to while moving your player w/ the left analog stick.

DD- Nintendo will have a standard controller that you can use, but I'm sure you will have to purchase it. But at $250, you'll have $350 worth of extra money to buy games, controller, etc...before you even reach PS3 price.

Some videos to give an idea of what has been shown about the controller so far:

    Drum game tech demo:

Couple of E3 videos that give you a closeup of the controller, the 'classic controller' and the 'zapper' gun:

A video from E3 showing someone playing the new Mario with the Wii. (They don't show the guy using the controller, but it doesn't look like he's having any real problems.):

Supposedly, the controller movements don't usually have to be wild and flailing at all, which is one of the things that surprised people at E3. For the couch potatoes out there :) , it can sense pretty slight movements.

I'm looking forward to it. I still don't think, for the folks that are heavy gamers, it will be the 'main system', but the perfect compliment to either the 360 (Wii60!!!) or the PS3. I think it will do very well.

I was already won over...but this definitely seals the deal even more. It'll be a nice complimenting system to my eventual 360.

If you own a Nintendo Wii and your friend brings another, will you have a WiiWii?
