Francis blew two shots at the end of the game, including the last one which was just a poor ass Mobleyesque heave.... oh boy. Playoffs a long, long, long shot now.

Last shot wasn't that bad... it was the missed layup that blew the game and possibly the season. One layup and this game is over. And we blow it.

Stick a fork in the Rockets...

Don't forget to give props to Mo Taylor for playing some tough d on the undersized Ruben Patterson...

No excuse to let a 6-5 SF bully you to the basket...

steve francis im sorry played like a little girl tonight.

1.) misses a layup at end of game
    2.) doesnt D up payton
3.) misses shot at end of game
4.) entire game penetrates and passes doesnt look for shot
5.) gets out played by emanuel davis who stripped him twice

wtf is that. he played absolute garbage ball tonight. he shouldve stayed out of the game if his ankle hurt so damn bad. i wouldve rather seen moochie play the point. that was absolutely awful play.

Looks like it's time to get the quest for some balls started.

That was pretty lame. To make it worse it was a poorly timed heave! If the shot goes in, Seattle have at least 5 seconds left to go for the win.

Where was the double on Patterson? Make them beat you from the outside

    1) No questing for balls till we're mathematically eliminated.

    2) We lost this game on the defensive boards, not on a missed lay-up or a partially blocked shot.

i think steve took a decent shot. not great, but decent. ruben got a small piece of it, so hey....

what destroyed us was a serious lack of urgency. if they played with urgency, they would not have been outhustled to loose ball - consistently. if they playeed with urgency, they would not have been outrebounded.

    btw,

i think it's official. kelvin cato sucks and the houston rockets know it.

Well I'm ticked. And that wasn't Mobleyesque because at least he touches the rim when he heaves. Cat's heaves are quality heaves! [IMG]

Not that it means anything, but he was fouled on the last shot.

The missed layup was what killed me.

Cato's play is a big reason why the Rockets won't make the playoffs. This small stretch of games has killed the Rockets chances.

When your supposed star point guard misses a freebie layup and your supposed power forward gets backed down under the rim by a small forward, then you know you're in trouble. Even with all of this, the thing that ticks me off most is that Patterson can't shoot to save his life yet instead of making him hit the 18 foot jumper we let him drive to the bucket at will. Pathetic game plan on Patterson.

I would have rather seen Steve take the 3 on the last shot, Patterson gave him a little room to get it off...if not, then at least go all the way to the whole, do not pull up on a player 3-4" taller than you. But, of course, the lay-up was a killer. To tell you the truth I expected the ball to be in Cuttino's hand, with Steve struggling and all. Or maybe a penetration and dish to Walt, who played a great game minus a couple of misses under the basket.

Cato is sucking worse than ever right now, and it's catching up to the team. Ever since the great D on Duncan its been downhill. We need something at the center position, and he's not giving it.

What do you mean? It was a blatant foul. He was clearly hit in the arm. It wasn't even a judgement call. I am not a homer either, I am a Mavs fan who just happened to be watching. I hate when officials are frozen and can't make a call even when they know it should be made. They are afraid they will be critcized for blowing the whistle too late. Most of the time the ref will see that the ball didn't make it all the way to the basket and call the foul. I agree with not blowing the whistle on a judgement call, but it definitely should have been called in this case.

Seriously? My goodness, I can think of at least 3 games that the refs screwed us.

    1. Spurs in Dome
    2. Dallas (3 stupid techs including the unbelievable Taylor one)
    3. this one

    4. I didn't see the suns game...that one too?

Finalsbound... you are forgetting the most obvious one... the one where Steve was thrown out in Sacramento for nothing!

    And the Kings game. Thanks.

But, wasn't Steve fould by Barry tonight? There was a lot of contact. I would of much rather had two freebies than a chance.
