Orton a franchise QB?? Surely, that is your sarcasm meter working overtime. I was really hoping that they were going to trade Cutler to Detroit and take Stafford. I really think if the Broncos could get a better QB than Orton than they could get back to being a 10 to 12 win team; however, I don't know how they are going to accomplish that feat. :(

They are going to have the Bears' possible top 10 pick this year. Not sure who all the QB prospects are, but it seems like Locker (if he comes out early) and Bradford will be up in the top 10.

Yeah, I don't even know how Batch managed to injure himself again. He's a decent backup, but man, he's fragile. I wouldn't mind getting Leftwich back.

I was really looking forward to watching Dennis Dixon get a chance!

I feel ya. I've liked Dixon since he was in college too. Part of me wishes the Steelers weren't so old-school on offense and would incorporate some form of wildcat offense to take advantage of Dixon's speed and athleticism. Hell, given the way the offense stalls and how everything falls apart in the 4th for the Steelers -- could it really hurt to try?

I liked him in college too, but if he isn't ready to start in the NFL, the Steelers are better off with Big Ben. They still have time to turn things around and make a serious playoff run. Maybe he'll get some scrub time next season assuming they finally let Batch go.

Oh yeah, for sure. Ben is expected to start and hopefully everything is alright. All i'm saying is that given how Ben is one of the most unorthodox QB's in NFL history, it helps to have a quality backup like a Leftwich type just in case any of the crazy things Ben does leads to a significant injury. Dixon would be nice in a wildcat formation but the Steelers evidently don't believe in that type of stuff for some reason.

All I know is I'd rather give a shot to Dixon rather than a journeyman like Lemon or any other jobless bum for that matter. Dixon's a student of the game and he's been taking practice snaps and knows the system as opposed to bringing in a FA off the streets. The matchup against Baltimore this week is going to be tough regardless with or without Big Ben. I'd try and let Ben rest and make sure he's as close to as 100% as possible especially since all the games the rest of the way look very winnable.

You want to put in a kid who has never played in an NFL game against the Baltimore Defense?

Gotta start somewhere. What better baptism by fire than the Ravens Defense.

Nah. I get what you're saying but this is a must-win for Pittsburgh. It's gonna talk an army to keep Ben off of the field on Sunday.

After the week 2, when they beat the patriots, everybody said the jets will win the division, and giving the credit of the win to Mark Sanchez, even when the defense was who won that game.

And nobody expect the Broncos to be in this situation, everybody thought they would only win 3 or 4, they won 6 already, so I dont think the expectations were high on them, at any point in the season.

LOL at Mangini accusing the Lions of faking injuries. I didn't watch that game but this sounds like blatant sore-loser type of stuff.

Mangini is a tool. Enjoy unemployment.

I'm a pretty big NFL fan and I have to say I honestly haven't heard this claim made very often....or at all. I think it's more about how cranky 1-9 football coaches can get.

It doesn't happen in the NFL a lot.

    But it does happen.
