Excited about the NFL season? I am.

I was thinking about guys who made a big splash but for some reason burn out quickly. Two always come to mind:

    Christian Okoye (RB-- Chiefs)
    Herb Mul-Key (KR/WR -- Redskins)

    Others?

    Does Jim Everett qualify?

    How about Brian Bosworth?

Do people that go down with injury count?

I think this is more about people that come out of nowhere, have a great season or two, and then just disappear.

Kinda like Kevin Mitchell in baseball...or Brady Anderson.

In football I think Gary Brown.

    Randall Cunningham

And Earl Campbell's career is too short, imo.

Timmy Smith was the guy who had a great Super Bowl for the Redskins but did nothing other than that, right? Kinda like Ricky Sanders (man I loved them Gamblers).

Cunningham had a pretty long and successful career. He didn't win big, but he had pretty good stats and was a decent QB for most of his career.

Earl had like 8 good years, right? Average NFL career is under 4, isn't it?

I would say Hosteller was more of a late bloomer than a flash in the pan.

Who was the CB who was MVP of the superbowl and then signed with the Raiders and was never heard from again?

That guy has to be at the top of the list.
