They had an extremely favorable schedule as well... another aspect that isn't guaranteed from year to year.

They're going to be the odds-on favorite to win it all next year, regardless of what happens the rest of this season, but there's no way not to look at this year as a missed opportunity.

Boswell is almost useless outside of 50 yards, granted Randy is useless everywhere, but we got a good one in Novak.

2/4 career in FG attempts over 50 yards. So, yeah, not useless. And money in the playoffs, to boot. Pun intended.

Big win for the Steelers. Ugly but a win is a win.

Nobody on the planet is going to be giving the Steelers a chance against New England, which is fine by me. I'd rather be underestimated than overrated.

P.S. Travis Kelce is a moron. A moron, choker and undisciplined bonehead.

C'mon now. Plenty of people have said for weeks the Steelers have the best chance to win at NE of any team in the AFC. When you consider NE's pedestrian win against the Texans, Steelers are quite the live dog.

Like I said before, if Big Ben is sharp and has time to throw, we will celebrate.

Kelce is great but his post-game comments are over the top stupid. If that wasn't holding, there is no such thing as holding.

Agreed. I thought PIT was the only team in the AFC able to topple NE, before the wild card weekend. They'll need to be able to score TDs though. Can't win against Brady with just FGs.

Have you seen their opponents next year? Plus they have to get a whole new secondary and their cap situation is awful not to mention more film on Dak. Might be hard to replicate their success

Right but I know you're familiar with the history between Pittsburgh and New England. As ashamed as I am to admit it: New England owns us.

Between that and playing on the road, we both know who the odds-makers and analysts are going to overwhelmingly favor. And rightfully so. Maybe it's just a testament to how good NE really is - that a team they historically always beat has the best chance to pull off the upset? I don't know.

But you're absolutely right about Ben. Pittsburgh's defense is playing at a very high level, but the reality is this AFC Championship game could turn into a high scoring affair. You aren't going to get the 30-something points you'll probably need in order to beat New England by handing the ball off to Le'Veon Bell for 30 runs up the middle when they're stacking 8 guys in the box. You're going to need an effective passing game too. Brown will get open and get his looks, no doubt, but the search for the #2 guy continues. Maybe Eli Rogers will finally have a big game or Ladarius Green will finally suit up. Jesse James was effective, but only because it seems KC wasn't respecting him. Somebody else besides AB and Bell will need to be a difference-maker in the passing game. That and, like you said, the offensive line will need to give him time to throw.

My main reason for not seeing the Cowboys play in Houston. They will destroy Houston.

I'm actually surprised no Cowboys fans killed anyone after that game.

But, the Cowboys have prepared their fans well for the eventuality of losing every season. And, any time things are lined up just right for a run with home field advantage, that is just a death blow to the team.

The Cowboys may eventually get back on top because they just found their QB of the future as a rookie and he's going to be playing long after players like Rodgers, Rothlisberger, Manning, Brady, etc. are long gone (assuming he remains healthy) and that era of these dominant veteran QBs will be over. Those guys aren't going to be easily replaceable for those teams. The new era of QBs is right around the corner.
