It's pretty simple. For example, if you see this: Eagles -2.5 Chiefs That means the Eagles are favored by 2.5 points to win. So if you pick the Eagles, if they only win the game by 2 points, you lose your money. If they win by 3 or more points, you win money. You'll also see an over/under. For example, say the over/under on a game is 48. That means the total scores of both teams have to be over 48 points if you pick the over, or under 48 if you pick the under. So if you picked the over and the final score was 30-24, you'd win (54>48). There's also the "money line", which basically means you are picking that team to win the game outright. Here is the Chargers game this week as an example: The money line shows +130 for the Chargers, and -150 for the Titans. That means if you pick the Chargers to win the game, then a $100 bet will win you $130. If you pick the Titans, you'd have to bet $150 in order to win $100. Also on there you can see that the Titans are favored by 3 points (-3), and the over under on the game is 44 points. Make sense?
Thanks, I knew I was doomed after the muffed punt/pick 6. I don't have much of a feel for that game, but if I had to bet it, I would take the Pack and lay the points.
For college, Scout.com I'm still looking for a good NFL site. But I feel a lot more confident betting NFL without much help. I keep up with it pretty well on my own.
I like this site. He complies info puts it in database, does a little analysis, and tells you what the % of bets are in vegas... who people are putting $ on... i like to compare what i think to what this guy thinks and if we are on the same page, i like to roll with it: http://walterfootball.com/picks.php
ATL +2.5 over Miami- Not at all sold on Miami. ATL is a good team JAX @ Seattle- Over 40.5......Seattle offense will score, Sea defense will score, Henne is slightly less inept than Gabbert and lots of Garbage time.
For the early games, took: Texans -1.5 Redskins +1 Rams +3.5 Packers -4 Also took the over in Titans/Chargers game at 43.5.
You lost everything...very impressive. I heard a $20 parlay on the Jags and Raiders to win (@ Seattle and @ Denver) would pay $5000. Thinking about it, lol...then again, I could just burn money.
5-2 in this thread cause of Bryants missed Chip Shot. Guess I'll take the Bears -2.5 to break even this week.
I guess I like the under tonight at 50. Manning seems unstoppable but he can't keep up this kind of scoring production forever, and the Raiders don't figure to mount much of an attack against the Denver "D".
7-3 with my teasers through the first 3 weeks.... Which means absolutely nothing since you have to win all your games to cash in on teasers lol
Recently saw this highlight from last week. How was RG3's forward dive ruled a fumble? BOTH knees clearly touched the ground before any loss of control. Not even close.
