Okay what a waste of a new conference. Someone tell the astros stop wasting money on these conferences to announce crap like that...they can easily just put out a press release instead of having a full conference.
I doubt they have a Conference for something this basic. It was pretty much granted that Rocket would accept. The press confernce, BTW, is scheduled for 4 pst. So it will be 6 here.
I edited my post after I saw yours. My dad called and said he declined, but he sounded a little confused, sorry for the mix up. Are you sure the news conference was for 4 pacific?
No problem... I was listening in on 610 and that is what they said. "4 out west" I assume it was 4 pst since they followed that with "we are going to dig around and see what we can find out on it." I heard this after 4:00 so I would think they are making some announcement a little later. It could turn out to be CLemens but they don't usually call a press conference for that. They take care of those things in press releases.
was their even a news conference? or simply just an announcement made. Regardless... this was a waste of an hour of speculation. Clemens was virtually assured of accepting arbitration... hell, even if he decides to come back, he would have made more in arbitration (thanks to his cy-young year) than he would with a sit-down with Drayton.
I don't think we know yet. I just woke up from a nap I didn't know I was taking so I'm confused and I could be wrong.
I think it was the Clemens deal and nothing more. Something would have been leaked if anythine else happened.
All I see on the Astros site is the announcement about Clemens accepting arbitration, nothing about a press conference. Edit: I just saw on the news that the Astros did call a press conference just to say Clemens accepted arbitration. Talk about pointless.
ARGH! I almost crapped my pants when I read posts on it might be about Alou. Man, I would love to have Alou back. Very good player, good friends with current Astros, He is latino which could help influence Beltran to return, and Biggio would be out of the OF. Man, this would be great. I like Alou a lot. He is a good player. Being up in Chicago with Baker has made him look like a whiney b****, but if he was back here in Houston I am sure he would be the great guy he was a few years ago.
Man, yall do know Alou intentionally kicked that ball into the ivy and acted like he lost it don't you? Don't particularly want any ex-Cubs on this team. And Alou's production ain't that hot.
Yeah I did. That was obvious. But ehh....I could wipe out the fact he was a cubbie from my mind. He is an ex-Astro in my mind, not an ex-Cubbie.
